Description

Help shape the future of public sector procurement and its impact on communities across England, Scotland and Wales

For more than 60 years, LHC Procurement Group has helped public sector organisations deliver better homes, buildings and infrastructure through high-quality procurement solutions. Today, as a Gold Standard accredited, not-for-profit organisation operating across England, Scotland and Wales, we work with local authorities, housing associations and other public bodies to create lasting social value and positive outcomes for communities.

Procurement has a profound influence on the places in which people live, work and learn. Every year, public investment delivered through procurement shapes housing, community facilities, schools, healthcare environments and infrastructure across England, Scotland and Wales. At its best, procurement is about far more than compliance or commercial transactions. It is a powerful enabler of social value, sustainability, innovation and economic opportunity.

As we enter the next phase of our development, we are seeking an exceptional individual to become our next Group Chief Executive Officer. This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected national organisation with a clear social purpose, strong foundations and a bold ambition to continue shaping the future of public sector procurement.

The Role

Reporting to the Board, you will lead a complex organisation comprising five Regional Business Units and a national Centre of Excellence, providing strategic direction and effective operational leadership across the Group.

Working with an experienced Board, regional committees and a talented leadership team, you will shape and deliver the next phase of the Group's development, ensuring LHC Procurement Group remains commercially successful, financially sustainable and unwavering in its commitment to improving lives and places through quality procurement solutions.

You will oversee a diverse framework portfolio, guide organisational development and digital evolution, and ensure the Group continues to respond effectively to changing policy, legislative and market environments across England, Scotland and Wales.

As the organisation's principal ambassador, you will build and strengthen relationships across government, local authorities, housing providers, contractors, suppliers, professional bodies and industry stakeholders. You will champion innovation, collaboration and social value, ensuring the organisation continues to deliver meaningful impact for clients and communities across England, Scotland and Wales.

About You

We are seeking a visible, collaborative and values-led leader who combines strategic thinking with commercial acumen and operational effectiveness.

You will bring:

  • Significant executive leadership experience, ideally at chief executive or equivalent level.
  • A track record of leading complex organisations through growth, change and transformation.
  • Experience of working successfully with Boards and governance structures.
  • Strong financial, commercial and organisational leadership skills.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Credibility, resilience and sound judgement in complex and evolving environments.
  • A genuine commitment to social value, public benefit and inclusive leadership.

Experience within the public, housing, infrastructure, construction, procurement or not-for-profit sectors would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from leaders whose skills and experience transfer from other complex environments.

Join Us

This is an opportunity to lead a highly respected organisation at a pivotal moment in its journey. Through your leadership, you will help ensure that procurement continues to deliver better outcomes for public bodies, stronger communities and lasting social impact across England, Scotland and Wales.

LHC Procurement Group is committed to building an inclusive organisation that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
